Step by Step

Preparation of the cavity

© Dr. Sudhanva
  • Clean teeth with fluoride-free polishing paste.
  • Prepare the cavity according to the adhesive technique.
  • Clean cavity with water spray and dry.
  • Ensure draining, rubber dam recommended.
Apply the adhesive system
  • Etch and bond the tooth surface according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Composite application
  • Insert the material from the syringe or coil into the cavity and model.
  • Maximum layer thickness 2 mm.
Curing
  • Expose each layer for 20 seconds using a dental polymerization unit.
  • Hold the light guide as close as possible to the surface.
Finishing and polishing
  • After polymerization, finish directly with finishing diamonds, silicone polishers or polishing brushes.
  • Check occlusion and articulation.
Special notes
  • Do not place the operating light too close to the material to avoid premature curing.
  • Carry out polymerization with a device in the 350 – 500 nm spectrum.
