Step by Step

Preparation
  • Cleaning of the tooth structure with fluoride-free polishing paste.
  • Shade selection in the wet state using the Vita shade guide.
  • Prepare the cavity according to the rules of the adhesive technique.
  • Ensure that the cavity is dry (rubber dam recommended).
Pulp protection & adhesive system
  • Cover deep cavities with calcium hydroxide.
  • Etch and bond according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Composite application
  • Apply material from a syringe or cartridge in thin layers (max. 2 mm).
  • Model each layer separately.
Curing
  • Expose each layer for 40 seconds using a standard dental polymerization unit.
  • Hold the light guide as close as possible to the filling surface.
Finishing & polishing
  • Finish and polish immediately after polymerization.
  • Use finishing diamonds, silicone polishers and polishing brushes.
  • Check occlusion and articulation.
Special notes
  • Do not place the operating light too close to the material during processing.
  • Use a light polymerization unit with a spectrum of 350-500 nm.
